Whatever I do, I always teach
Sing to the music (Wait about 3 minutes)
    Words by Mrs. Ruth McLaughlin
    Melody by Cornell Alma Mater

    On the sands of Atacama,
    In the Andes grand,
Stands our schoolhouse, red and sturdy,
    Fairest in the land.

It is here we work and study,
    Learn the Golden Rule,
Helped and guided by our teachers,
    At the Chilex School.

    Chorus

Hail to thee, dear Alma Mater,
    Let our voices ring.
As we travel on life's pathway,
    Praise to thee we'll sing.
Good Good! you have sung very well!

Now I will tell you how to use the interactive photos:

  • Go to the drop down menu above (titled Chuqui Scrapbook)
  • In the menu click on the Foreign School 1st Grade 1947
  • After the photograph appears OPEN THE PICTURE TO FULL SIZE to get better control
  • Click on each face and a message will appear
  • Help us to identify everyone by clicking on the message stamp and sending a note to Charlie Fisk (Everything he knows, he learned in my first grade!)
  • CLOSE THE PICTURE

Well, I bet you kids never would believe that you would be getting a lesson over the internet by your 1940s teacher! That just goes to show how deeply I still am inside each of your hearts!

God Bless
